MESSAGING ARCHITECTURE AND VOICE
One idea, broken into pillars and lines anyone on your side can write to.
Messaging architecture is the structure between a position and a sentence. Without it, every writer re-derives the brand from scratch and you end up with a website, a sales deck and an ad that each argue something slightly different. With it, there is one core idea, a small number of pillars beneath it, and the proof holding each pillar up.
Voice is the second half, and it is usually written as adjectives. Confident, friendly, human. Those are unusable instructions. So the voice guide gives rules as pairs instead: the sentence as someone wrote it, the sentence rewritten, and the reason the second one is better. A list of words the brand uses and words it never uses does more work than a page of personality traits.
Persuasion here is deliberate and bounded. I apply behavioural research on how people actually decide — framing, loss aversion, social proof, specificity beating superlatives — and I stop hard at dark patterns. Fake scarcity, shaming opt-outs and buried terms are a compliance exposure in India since the 2023 guidelines, and a slow way to lose the audience you just paid to reach.

WHAT I DO
- Message hierarchy — the core idea, three or four pillars under it, and the proof points that make each pillar sayable out loud.
- Channel and audience matrix — which pillar leads on the website, in sales conversations, in paid social and in email, for each buyer.
- Voice guide with rewrites — rules stated as before-and-after sentence pairs taken from your own material, with the reason attached.
- Vocabulary list — the words and constructions the brand uses, the ones it never uses, and the category clichés to refuse.
- Boilerplate at three lengths — one line, one paragraph and one short section, approved once and reusable everywhere.
- Headline, subject-line and call-to-action patterns — repeatable shapes with the persuasion principle each one leans on named.
- Compliance notes — the tactics I will not write, and why, mapped against India’s 2023 dark-pattern guidelines.
HOW I WORK
- 01
STRUCTURE
Turn the agreed position into a core idea and pillars, then cut any pillar with no proof standing behind it.
- 02
MAP
Assign pillars to channels and buyers so the same point is not repeated everywhere at the same volume.
- 03
VOICE
Rewrite real sentences from your existing material to demonstrate the rules working rather than describing them.
- 04
HAND OVER
Package it so a writer, a sales person or a video editor can pick it up and start without asking me anything.
BEST FOR
- Brands where the website, the deck and the ads each describe the business differently.
- Companies briefing multiple writers or freelancers and getting a different tone back every time.
- Businesses with a settled position and still no agreed language for expressing it.
- Teams whose copy leans on urgency tricks who want persuasion that survives scrutiny.
NOT THIS
- Not naming or taglines. The brand name and the line under the logo are decided in Brand Naming & Tagline.
- Not content strategy. What to publish and on what cadence is a separate deliverable; this is the language it all gets written in.
- Not an ongoing copywriting retainer. I build the system and enough worked examples to prove it, not every asset forever.
THE PROOF
Published case studies from brand solutions work. Each one names the client and shows what was delivered.
